"Aras Ghuaire" is situated in the centre of Letterfrack, in the heart of Connemara

Letterfrack is the access point for the Connemara National Park where you can walk up the Diamond Mountain or a number of other routed walks. There are also nature walks and children's activities are organised during the summer. The area is renowned for its many walks, and the purchase of one of the many walking guide books for the area opens up many walks varying in difficulty from the relaxing to the arduous.

There is excellent facilities for outdoor activities at the Killary Adventure Centre which is a short drive away, and Scubadive West providing diving instruction and trips to the many great dive sites in the area.In Clifden there is a very active sailing club, Clifden Boat Club, and at Dunloughan one of the most popular surfing beaches in the west.

Connemara is a fisherman's dream. There is a great deal of variety available in the area. many lakes in the area are good for brown trout fishing, and there are some excellent salmon fisheries, the closest of which is Kylemore Abbey Fishery, which has a good run of summer salmon and some seatrout.
Sea fishing is served by several local charter boats from Cleggan, Clifden and nearby Dooneen pier, and beach fishing is available at the wonderful beaches around Lettergesh. You are ideally positioned to explore the Island of Inishbofin.
